5 Star Cowboy Glamp Trips
You may not be provided with a pillow top mattress or a hot tub, but we will provide Five Star Cowboy Amenities such as the fresh mountain air and quiet, peaceful, star-lit nights. You will see and hear the sights and sounds of raging waterfalls and streams or calm lakes and brooks and see a beautiful Golden Trout dangling from your fly rod.
Our base camp is nestled in the trees above the Battle Park campground located approximately 30 miles out of our little hometown of Ten Sleep, Wyoming. After a very scenic drive up Ten Sleep Canyon and onto the Bighorn National Forest, you will arrive at our camp and your wilderness home for the most peaceful, unique and yet exhilarating and adventurous summer vacation you can imagine!
Upon arriving you will be greeted by members of Team WRO (Horses, humans and dogs) and get settled into your comfortable and private wall tents. You are free to venture around a little and will have a brief horse and safety intro. Wapiti Ridge horses are family to us and part of our team. We take pride and a lot of time working with them to ensure they are safe, ready and willing to pack you into the wilderness so you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
A Glance At A Day With WRO
Each morning you will be served a fulfilling breakfast and of course, Cowboy Coffee! No coffee in the world tastes better than it does in the mountains over a campfire. While you're enjoying the crisp mountain air your guide will be preparing a pack horse to haul your gear and lunches and will have your 'partner for the day,' fed, saddled and ready to escort you into the wilderness for the adventure of your dreams! From wildflowers and pine trees to mountain peaks and waterfalls you will be amazed at the beauty and wildlife surrounding you. The setting for your picnic lunch will be on the banks of a stream or a beautiful lake then on to more fishing, hiking and sightseeing adventures. If you choose you could slip in a little cat nap, dozing off to the sound of the water bubbling over the rocks, the fish jumping and the horses grazing or just relax and watch the puffy clouds roll by. The beautiful blue sky is limitless.
After a full day of exploring, fishing and taking in all of Wyoming's fresh air and beauty, there is nothing better than riding into camp being greeted by the camp chef with Cowboy Caviar, cocktails and cold beverages. You can take a hot Cowboy Shower, sit back and relax by the campfire enjoying the smells of a juicy, homegrown Wyoming Beef Steak and Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler cooking on the fire. Feel free to play some Cowboy games or simply take in the serenity of the outdoors. After dinner and stargazing you might get to meet our neighbors who pass through at dusk; a few elk and moose. When your eyes get heavy you can retire to your private, rustic wall tent. You'll be sure to rest peacefully on an oversized, comfy cot nestled in your warm sleeping bag dreaming of the giant trout you will catch the next day!
Glamp Camp
You will arrive as our guests and be treated like family throughout your stay. However, after unplugging, recharging and reconnecting you will go home feeling like a part of the Wapiti Ridge Outfitters Team. You will take home with you countless and lifetime memories of your time spent in Wyoming's beautiful and pristine Bighorn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness.

WRO is super excited for a new opportunity in 2025!!! We have teamed up with Spear-O-Wigwam Guest Ranch out of Sheridan Wyoming for the ultimate backcountry horseback adventure!!!!
Gear up to saddle up for a five day/four night pack trip into Wyoming's breathtaking Bighorn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness. Your first night will be spent at the 1923 historic Spear-O-Wigwam guest ranch out of a true cowboy town, Sheridan Wyoming. You will be served an excellent meal prepared by the ranches' chef and enjoy the evening around the fireplace in the lodge with a cocktail or outside around a campfire. You will retire to a very comfortable, rustic cabin for a peaceful nights rest to prepare you for the next three days in Wyoming's' beautiful backcountry!
We will pack up your gear on our gentle giants and you will get acquainted with your equine partner for the day and for the next six hours we will ride, picnic and explore the beauty and solitude of the Bighorn mountains into your home away from home for the next three days.
